The actress, who shortly after leaving daytime TV moved to Nashville in 2019, told PEOPLE in an interview that she felt like her “creative years were just beginning” at the time of the move to her new home. Kathie Lee Gifford Reveals Real Reason For Moving Away To Nashville
In 2019, The Blast noted that the “Love Never Fails” singer shared her reason for leaving the Today show and moving to Tennessee in an interview with “The Tennessean.” The former “Live” co-host, who shared a home with her late husband and children in Greenwich, Connecticut, revealed that leaving was necessary for her well-being as she was steadily growing lonely and sad in the now empty home which was once filled with life.
The “Then Came You” actress shared that after her husband died and her two children grew up and left home, she tried to stay happy, but it became more challenging as time passed. She said the home, once filled with memories, now felt like “a morgue” to her. Being a widow, an empty nester, and an orphan initially felt scary and stifling, but she then realized that she now had the freedom to begin an entirely new chapter for herself.
The “Suite Life on Deck” guest star added that she would choose to look on the positive side of life and have the life she’d only “have dreamed of.”
