The ladies of Little Mix aren’t letting two pregnancies get in their way of performing!
Despite two of the three members expecting little ones in the very near future, Little Mix is not slowing down their workflow, even if it means struggling with swollen ankles and achy backs.
On Tuesday, July 13, mixers got a behind-the-scenes look at Little Mix’s music video for “Heartbreak Anthem.”
The collaboration which featured Galantis, David Guetta and Little Mix is the perfect mix of EDM and pop, perfect for the summertime!
Guetta and Galantis didn’t physically appear in the music video, but the ladies of Little Mix were absolutely show-stopping.
In the BTS video posted to Galantis’ YouTube page, we see Little Mix prepping for the music video.
Perrie Edwards, who is pregnant with her first child, tells the camera, “I’m literally living my childhood dream in this video. The glitz the glamour the hair is so crazy, the outfits and the wings, we are going to be like creatures.”
She was in the early stages of her pregnancy when the music video was filmed, and hinted that she may be in pain later in the day.
“It’s just the start, so ask me in a few hours how uncomfortable and how in pain I am, because this dress weighs, I think they said, a stone,” the soon-to-be mom said.
A stone is equivalent to 14 pounds in the US.
The camera cuts to Leigh-Anne Pinnock, who is also expecting her first child this year, saying, “I’ve got swollen ankles.”
Leigh-Anne can be seen rolling out her ankles to prepare for the heavy dress, wings and wigs!
She continued to say, “I am going to have such a bad back tomorrow, but I’m sure it’s going to look amazing and it’s all going to be worth it.”
Jade Thirlwall revealed the wings were custom made, which means they were very expensive. The good news, each member got to take home their pair of wings after the shoot.
During rehearsal, Perrie revealed she was terrified of toppling over once the wings were put on.
Jade echoed both Leigh-Anne and Perrie’s sentiments of how heavy the costumes were when looking directly at the camera and saying, “I wish everyone through the lens could feel the weight of these wings with a corset on at the same time. With a lace front wig glued to your head and heels.”
The music video for “Heartbreak Anthem” was inspired by the book, “Nights At The Circus” by Angela Carter.
The director of the music video, Samuel Dueck, explained the book, which in turn means the music video, is about a woman who has hatched out of an egg with wings. The story is about breaking free from a past life and looking forward to a new one.
Perrie and Leigh-Anne are both preparing for a new life. The future mommas announced they were both expecting in May.
