In a video shared to Brady’s Twitter account, the quarterback said, “I’ll get to the point right away. I’m retiring. For good.”

“I really thank you guys so much, to every single one of you for supporting me, my family, my friends, my teammates, my competitors, I could go on forever there’s too many,” Brady continued to say, holding back tears.

“Thank you guys for allowing me to live my absolute dream. I wouldn’t change a thing. Love you all,” he concluded.

Tom Brady Might NOT Be Retiring?! Here's What Is Going On...

This is not the first time the 45-year-old retired from the NFL.

Last year, shortly after the NFL season ended, he announced that he would retire from the NFL, however, he quickly had a change of heart as he came out of retirement just weeks later and returned to play for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this past season.

This year, history is repeating itself as just weeks after the Tampa Bay Buccaneers were eliminated from the playoffs, the quarterback announced his retirement… again.

Fans are having fun with the announcement as one user shared to Twitter, “I’ll give it 12 minutes before he comes back,” to which another hilariously replied, “I’ll give you 11 minutes to place the bet🤣🤣🤣.”

One user chimed in by saying, “I hope it’s for good this time.”

Another brought up Brady’s divorce, which many speculated sparked after the quarterback came out of retirement last year. “Bro ruined his marriage for a below .500 season and to lose to the cowboys in the playoffs 😭,” one Twitter user wrote.

Others are upset to see Brady retire for good as many refer to him a the GOAT. “It’s tough for the great ones to walk away,” one user Tweeted alongside a GIF of the quarterback and his six Super Bowl rings.

One of Brady’s followers jokingly replied to Brady’s retirement video, “see you next year,” to which another user said, “Nah. You can see in his eyes. The fire is gone. He has nothing left to prove.”

What’s Next For Tom Brady?

Tom Brady in 80 For Brady

Although nothing has been announced, many are speculating that the now-former quarterback will continue in the NFL as an analyst or announcer.

Outside of football, Brady is starring in the upcoming film, “80 For Brady,” which hits theaters this Friday, February 3, and also stars Jane Fonda, Sally Field, Rita Moreno, and former teammate, Rob Gronkowski.

Brady is also a father of three children so he will likely focus on being there for his kids now that he doesn’t have his commitment to football. He shares his son, John “Jack” Edward Thomas, with his ex, actress Bridget Moynahan, and his two kids — Benjamin Rein and Vivian Lake — with his ex, Brazilian fashion model, Gisele Bündchen, whom he just recently divorced from.

The speculation that the two were in rocky waters began when Tom Brady unexpectedly took an 11-day break from training camp in August due to “personal reasons.” After Brady returned to training camp from his 11-day absence, he released a statement saying, “Everyone has different situations they’re dealing with, and we all have unique challenges to our lives. I’m 45 years old, man.”

Although the rumors suggested Brady’s decision to unretire and return to the NFL is the reason to blame, another source, close to the Tampa Bay Bucs quarterback and the Brazilian fashion model, says that is not the case and those claims are “sexist.”

Brady and Bündchen filed for divorce a few months ago.
