Nick Cannon Is Unsure About Having More Children In The Future: ‘I’m Good Right Now’

Comedian and show host, Nick Cannon, has been on quite a roll over the past decade, birthing 11 children with six women. The actor also expects a twelfth child, with model Alyssa Scott, sometime next year.

With the brood’s size increasing every year, the rapper’s child-bearing abilities have raised questions on whether he has a planned number he is trying to achieve or if he intends to hang his fathering boots after his forthcoming child.

Speaking with Billboard, the former talk show host answered the query and opened up about his children’s influence on his life.

In his recent interview with Billboard for its R&B/Hip-Hop Power Players event, Cannon opened up about his fatherhood journey, which has seen him welcome 11 children with multiple women over the past decade.

The last four kids arrived in 2022, months after he once publicly stated that his therapist had advised him to take a vow of celibacy.

When asked by host Tetris Kelly if he plans on expanding his family any further, Cannon said he wouldn’t rule out having more kids in the future, although he is happy with the current size of his brood.

He remarked, “I don’t know, man. I have no idea. I think I’m good right now!” The former “America’s Got Talent” host then explained that his kids were the most important part of his life.

“That’s my number one priority, obviously. I wake up being a father thinking about my kids, and everything else comes after that,” Cannon added.

Not only does Cannon consider his kids his “number one priority,” the former talk show host shared that they were the inspiration behind his many projects.

He shared, per the music publication, “My kids are definitely the creative force in all that I do. They’re the funniest, most innovative, best questions…every project I’m working on now is through their eyes.”

One of such projects that his children could have inspired is his recent music project with acclaimed singer Chris Brown, dubbed “I DO.”

The rapper also said that he was thrilled about the plans for the upcoming year and that he was now concentrating more on the executive side of the entertainment industry.

The actor then welcomed a daughter, Beautiful Zeppelin Cannon, in November. He shares the newborn with DJ and radio broadcaster Abby De La Rosa, alongside twins Zillion and Zion.

Former Miss Arizona USA, Britany Bell, also bore three kids for Cannon: Rise Messiah, 1 month, Powerful Queen, 1, and Golden, 5. He also shares 11-year-old twins, Moroccan and Monroe, with “All I Want for Christmas Is You” singer Mariah Carey,

Last year, Cannon shared insight into his procreation process, revealing at the time that having so many children is not a choice he gets to make.

“Those women, and all women, are the ones that open themselves up and say, ‘I would like to allow this man into my world, and I will birth this child,’” the rapper shared on Power 105.1’s “The Breakfast Club,” per New York Post. “It ain’t my decision. I’m just following suit.”

He added, “When you really look at how the family infrastructure is designed, the woman is the one that always leads and makes decisions.”

Cannon also spoke on his aversion to the monogamous marriage system, explaining that he does not want to have a claim to any woman.

The actor said at the time, “I don’t want ownership over anybody. I don’t have ownership over any of the mothers. We create families in the sense that we created a beautiful entity.”
